View
the Demonstration Catalog live online to see the large format and
photo.
It can be printed online on letter sized paper width, but may
take multiple pages to print the entire description provided by the
consignor, because unlimited space is allowed for the online catalog
and classified companion ad.
Call 785-456-8600 to obtain the
password for the Demo
Catalog so you can test the system by setting up real or
fictitious horses in the system "hands on."
You will be able to use the Print Listing
tools to produce actual press-ready catalog pages for your printed
auction catalog.
STEP 1 -- After
obtaining the Demo catalog passwords, click any "Login" button at
http://www.BuyHorsesOnly.com
and enter the user name and password. (this may be changed from time
to time, so please request it again if stops working. Use
the "Login" button at the top of the sidebar menu on this page.
STEP 2 -- To test
the catalog printing feature, Click the link on the manager menu
bar that reads: "Create Print
Listing"
STEP 3 -- A screen will
display asking "How many ads you
would like on each page?" A drop-down list will give you
1, 2 or 4 per page. Choose one of them and click the "Proceed"
button.
STEP 4 -- The next screen will
display with the following message and the option you chose: "The table below represents the sections on
a page. Select a horse for each section then
Click GO
to generate the
print layout"
Example: If you chose 4, a table with 4 quadrants will display
with a drop-down list for each so you can select the horse you want to appear in
the corresponding quadrant. Choose the appropriate horses by
clicking a name on each of the 4 drop-down lists.

SETTING BROWSER
OPTIONS FOR PRINTING
-- When the report(s) are displayed on your screen, you
must set your browser to print in landscape orientation, with narrow
page margins:
Click "FILE" on your
browser's text menu, then select "Page Set-Up" from the drop-down menu.
Set the page margins to zero all
the way around. The browser will probably reset them to
minimum width, which may be .166 inch or 0.2. This is OK.
Click the "Landscape" radio
button to print the page crosswise. (Your browser will return to the
usual "portrait" orientation automatically after the page is printed.)
If you plan to print the pages now, you will probably want to
remove header and footer printing
settings while you generate your printed page files. Those
options are also offered in the Page Set-Up. You may want to write
down the header and footer codes so you can restore them later.
STEP 6 -- After the
settings are made, you can preview the page as it will print by
clicking "FILE" then "Print Preview" from the drop-down
menu. If everything displays the way you want it to ... and it will,
then you can print the page if you wish. To print, simply
click the print button on the preview screen.
A laser printer offers the best
quality if you plan to use "camera-ready" master pages to
photocopy or quick-print your pages. You can save the catalog print
page as a PDF file, which can be attached to email and sent to
your printing company. Usually, they can use the PDF or
digital files directly in their printing software and go directly to
press.
