"Jaws," as we call Mighty Mouse's third foal, is her first colt.  We nicknamed him Jaws   because of his tendency as a baby to "taste" everything and everybody.   He no longer does that but he is very people orientated and will now blow in your ear.   At six months,  he is now solid black with a tiny white mark on the front and back of the coronary band on his left front hoof.

His ears,  which looked large at first,  are now looking much smaller as he grows into them. They are the curly Princequillo ears of his mother and his grandsire, Moscow Ballet. He has the Princequillo body which gives him the shoulder and hip of Princequillo.  He has been inspected by Penny Chenery, the breeder of Secretariat,  who said he had the same hip and shoulder of Secretariat.   Right,  photo at 6 months.

When he runs,  he displays the same early speed of Mighty Mouse's other two foals.  He has a long fluid stride and natural balance, doing flying changes without thinking or training.  He should reach
16.1 or 16.2 hands in height at maturity and should have the very large Mill Reef heart carried by his mother,  which will have a heartscore of 147-150.

He is the first of Mighty Mouse's foals to receive her large Princequillo heart. The other two fillies look like their sire.   Tale of Two Hearts,  her first foal,  now a two-year-old,  had her heart measured by equine cardiologist Dr. Fred Fregin last week (November, 1999.)   After taking the EKG and as he listened to her heart,  he asked me, "How much did you turn down for this filly this year?'  I told him I had turned down both $40,000 and $50,000 for her. He replied, "Well,  maybe you could consider $80,000 for half of her now,  based on the heart I am hearing." "Tell-Tell,"  as we call her,  had a heartscore of 133 with another year left to grow, so she should easily reach the 140 heartscore of her sire,  Desert Secret,  which is the My Charmer heart carried by Seattle Slew. This is the War Admiral heart.  In addition to having her sire's heart,  she also looks just like him and other Seattle Slew daughters and is a very explosive runner who goes into training next month.  When Jaws is a yearling,  he will have two half-sisters running in California and in Kentucky.  If they perform like the promise they show,   his value could skyrocket.
